Molecular and Genetic Basis of Life‐strategy Divergence in Plants

Plant species display extreme diversity in the life‐strategies that involves the variation in reproductive patterns. In this lecture, I will first discuss the divergence of annual and perennial life‐history in plants on the basis of the molecular system determining the reproductive patterns in plants. Furthermore, I will present a quick tour of the range of variation in flower functions that enables the plant species to innovate the mechanisms of their reproductive strategies.
