Faculty Positions Open for International ScholarsSeoul National University School of Biological Sciences, South KoreaTenure track faculty positions are open for foreign scientists to preferably begin March 1, 2011 in the areas of 1) Bio-Imaging, 2) Structural Biology, 3) System Biology, 4) Microbial Pathogenesis, 5) Molecular Medicine, and 6) Evolutionary Developmental Biology. The opening is limited to non-Korean scientists. The responsibilities of this position include both research and teaching. Teaching will be conducted in English. The applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral experience with strong research backgrounds and achievements. Competitive set-up expenses and stipends for 70% of graduate students are provided. Also, governmental research grants are applicable for faculty research. The school offers an excellent environment for collaborative research and is equipped with state of the art research facilities. Currently the department has 50 faculty members including 4 foreign faculties, 480 graduate students/postdocs, and 300 undergraduate students. Additional Departmental information is available at website:http://biosci.snu.ac.kr. The salary starts from approximately 60 million KRW per year and is competitive depending on the experience. The University will provide a new faculty with relocation support. Fringe benefits of this position include Government employee pension and national medical insurance. Faculty housing (2 to 4 bed rooms upon family size) is also available for three years with comparatively lower deposit and monthly levy.
