Glo-harmony Scholarship

Overview

Seoul National University has been one of collaborative institutions of the Samsung Equal Opportunity Scholarship Foundation’s Glo-harmony (domestic scholarship for students from developing nations) Scholarship Program. The program started from spring semester of 2008. SNU will select two undergraduate/graduate students among applicants from developing countries for Fall semester 2011.

Eligibility Criteria

        Students from OECD/DAC recipient country:

        Undergraduate students: going into first, second or third year in Spring 2012

        Demonstrating financial need

        Majoring in Humanities or Social Sciences are given priority

        Willing and capable of contributing to their home country upon graduation.

        Having potential to become a global leader

        Language proficiency of either English or Korean is highly recommended, but not compulsory

Value of Scholarship

        Full Tuition Fee is provided by SNU starting from 2012 Spring (Maximum of 8 semesters)

        Scholarships will be revised and renewed every year depending on their grades, study ability, improvements in Korean Language, and fund availability at the time of renewal.

        Financial support (dormitory fee, insurance, text books, food, etc.) will be provided by Samsung Equal Opportunity Scholarship Foundation

Procedure & Important Dates

Application deadline: Jan. 27 (Fri), 2012 18:00

First Screening: Beginning of Feb.

Interview: End Feb.

         * Only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted

Results: Beginning of Mar.

        * Only final candidates will be notified.
