Ourlab utilizes molecular genetics in Caenorhabditis elegans to investigatevarious topics related to the nervous system, transcriptional regulation, andtelomeres. C. elegans is a usefulexperimental system due to its ease of maintenance, transparency that allowsfor visual examination of its inner workings via microscopy, availability ofgenetic methods, a simpler nervous system that exhibits complex behaviors, andconservation of many genes with human counterparts.
