My research interest is to understand the genetics underlying the evolution of extremely diverse reproductive strategies in plants. Using cutting edge technologies in transcriptomics and functional genomics, I am interested in elucidating the mechanism of ballistic seed dispersal in Viola that potentially involves the intricate communication between the mother plant and developing progeny. Furthermore, my study also focuses on identifying the biological fundamentals of the germ cell lineage bifurcation in plants using Arabidopsis as a model system.
