Research Interests
Transposable elements (TEs) are mobile DNA sequences that integrate and propagate within genomes, driving functional variation. I develop computational genomics tools to analyze the dynamics of ancient or recent TEs, which were not detectable with conventional sequence-base algorithms. By devising novel mathematical representations of genomes, I annotate and study those TEs to understand genomic evolution and trace the evolutionary trajectories of TEs.
