Research Interests
Reproduction is an essential event in the life of living organisms that ensures the continuation of the species. In contrast to animals that specify the germ cell-lineage during early embryogenesis, plants differentiate the reproductive organ and tissue (or gametophyte) after completion of most postembryonic development. Gametophyte development in plants involves the sophisticate cell lineage bifurcation and the lineage-specific cell cycle control. However, the mechanism that orchestrates the cellular processes remain largely elusive. Using the single-cell multi-omics studies, I am interested in understanding the developmental trajectories of plant reproductive cell-lineage and the molecular behaviors of cells differentiating during the specification of male gametophyte development in the anther of Arabidopsis thaliana.
